PREPARING FOR YOUR PHOTO SHOOT - FOR HER
A few tips for the ladies! - not because you need them, but because you deserve to look, and feel your best during your photo session. Here are a few tips to help you fell confident when rocking your photo shoot!
FLAUNT YOUR BEST FEATURES - Yes we've all heard it - If you've got it, flaunt it - If you love your legs, wear something that shows them off. A well fitted pencil skirt, or if you prefer to rock a skinny pant. Do it! It works just the opposite about something you're not comfortable with. My upper arms bother me, so I wear a cardigan or jacket to give me a waist line but cover my upper arms, giving me comfort and confidence.
YOUR OUTFIT - Oh, what to wear, what to wear? It's a tough decision but wear what you are most comfortable in. It will show in your photos is you are not comfortable. So pick something that you feel confident but also comfortable in. When taking photos with your Groom, or Family, remember we are trying to coordinate colors, not match colors. Keep prints to a minimum, as they tend to be too distracting, or too small of a print doesn't photograph at all.
LAYERS - Layers are key to rocking any outfit! Scarfs, belts, jackets, cardigans, are all great ways to give your body shape, and accentuate your best features. Get creative with textures, such as lace, or a layered tulle skirt.
MAXI DRESSES - If you are still stumped on what to wear, maxi dresses are a great option for any body type. There are so many options, such as layer with a belt, bold necklace, or a fitted cardigan to complete the look.
SHOES - We all want legs for days. Unfortunately I wasn't born with long legs, so I always try to wear heels or at least a wedge to elongate my legs. A little bit of heel also helps keep your posture straight, and gives your booty a little boost too.
ACCESSORIZE - Find some jewelry in an accent color that goes with you color scheme of your outfit. Statement necklaces are a great way to add personality to an outfit. Chunky jewelry stands out in photos and is a great way to add diversity to an outfit.
MAKE UP - Go ahead and add a little extra makeup on top of your daily routine. Eye makeup pops in your portraits especially if you add just a little bit more mascara, and eye-shadow. And don't forget a lip color goes a long way too!
HAIR - If you're in the need of a haircut or color, do it about a week or so before your session. This gives your time to practice styling it just the way you would like. On the day of the session give your hair an extra little spritz of hair spray to avoid any stray hairs flying away.
Last, but most definitely not least, go pamper yourself, however that may be, a warm drink cuddled in a blanket, a few extra minutes in your bath tub, or splurging on a mani - pedi. The day before go and relax for just a few minutes to collect your thoughts, and take some time for yourself.
I hope this was helpful! And maybe, just maybe made it a little easier to get ready for your photo session!
